Water Quality ParametersAbstract
Vaname shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei) is the most widely cultivated and produced crustacean species worldwide. The advantages of vaname shrimp are their high selling price, ease of cultivation, and ability to adapt to extreme environments. Water quality plays an important role in cultivation because it affects the survival of vaname shrimp. This study was conducted from October 2023 to February 2024 at the Ngoyan Pond in Worawari Village, Pacitan, East Java. This study aimed to determine the relationship between temperature and salinity variables and the abundance of Vibrio sp. and the growth of vaname shrimp. This study used a quantitative descriptive method involving feed and media probiotic experiments. The research data were processed using SPSS vr.27 software to analyze the relationship between temperature and salinity and the abundance of Vibrio sp. and the growth of vaname shrimp. The results showed that the average total Vibrio value for Pond P was 5.501 x 10³ CFU/mL and for Pond K was 6.22 x 10³ CFU/mL. The correlation results of the temperature and salinity variables with the abundance of Vibrio sp. showed that the temperature variable was more significantly related to the abundance of Vibrio sp. with a strong category. The results of the correlation between temperature and salinity variables and shrimp growth show that Pond P has a simultaneous (concurrent) significant relationship with a Sig. F Change value of 0.047. The R value obtained for Pond P is 0.840, which can be classified as a “very strong” correlation coefficient. The correlation results for Pond K show no simultaneous (concurrent) significant relationship. The results of this study can be concluded that the temperature variable has a significant relationship with the abundance of Vibrio sp. and the salinity variable has a stronger significant relationship with the growth of vaname shrimp. Pond P was given probiotic feed and probiotic media treatment, while Pond K was given probiotic feed treatment only.
